LIBRARY SHABBAT RECAP
This past Friday 10 of us enjoyed a warm, intimate Library Shabbat Friday night dinner, virtually, of course. It was not the same thing as gathering in person, but it was the next best thing. The next Library Shabbat is scheduled for July 10. We don't yet know whether it will be in person or virtually. In any case, thought, please join us to help us welcome Shabbat.

SPECIAL SHABBAT
May 16 is the quadruple anniversary of Phil Weiser's bar mitzvah. He and Heidi had planned to sponsor the event by reading Torah, providing a discussion, and hosting a festive lunch. Since we are all virtual now, the festive lunch won't happen, but the rest of the event will. Please join us to help Phil celebrate on May 16. Look for the magic Zoom numbers blasted out the day before.

WHEN WILL KOHELET REOPEN?
Now that the stay-at-home orders have expired, Denver and Colorado are gradually opening up. At this point we don't know when Kohelet or the preschool, Ganainu, will reopen. Many of us are in a high risk group, so we are proceeding very slowly and cautiously. It is doubtful that anything will change before the summer. Your health and safety is our top priority. We will keep everyone informed as we go along. Thank you so much for all the support Kohelet members have shown.

TALKS BY SUSAN HEITLER
Mondays at 10:30 a.m. MDT
I am writing to invite you to join for a series of short interactive talks I'll being doing via Zoom. The goal of the series is to turn the emotional challenges posed by the coronavirus into an opportunity for building the skills for living an ever-more-loving life.
Jordan Polevoy, a former Denver native who lives currently in Raanana, Israel, initiated these talks. He is building a website that will host Israel-based talks, yoga and meditation classes, and more to help make this a time of thriving for all of us.

WAYS TO HELP FROM HOME
Several of our members have suggested contributing to the following worthy causes. All of these organizations need help in responding to the COVID-19 crisis:
3. Shalom Park in honor or our own Jim Kurtz-Phelan (The fundraising dinner honoring him had to be cancelled) :
https://shalompark.org/
(Michael Merson)
4. Jewish Colorado COVID-19 Response Fund (Helps a variety of Jewish organizations deal with current emergencies caused by this health crisis):

Many Kohelet members have young grandchildren or at least know young children. This may be a particularly difficult time for them. Christine Borst, a clinical psychologist and children's author based in Colorado Springs has written and illustrated a book explaining coronavirus to children. The book is informative and comforting to both children and adults. By clicking on the following link, you can download it it pdf form to share with the young children in your lives.
