OUR ANNUAL MEETING
We have had a very successful Annual Meeting. Thank you, Robyn and Betty for your coordination of our delicious meal and thank you David and Neiel for your excellent bartending skills. Several people spoke up and discussed their hopes and dreams for the future. Thank you, Joan, Debra, Nechama, Ayelet, Jeff Zax, Bennett, Neiel, Susan Heitler, Phil, Michael Merson, and Daniel Hettleman.
Some ideas presented: dealing with the uptick in anti-Semitism worldwide, more ongoing engagement from current members in welcoming and retaining new members, more focus on our collective well-being as a community, more empathy and kindness in dealing with divisiveness, more involvement with Israel and Jewish causes, more collaboration with other community organizations, Jewish or not, and children’s story and Hebrew conversation time in our library. We will talk about these in upcoming board meetings, but meanwhile, if you suggested it, feel free to begin working on it.
Thank you all again for a very successful annual meeting. We have shown that Kohelet is alive and well.

HIGHLIGHT: ISRAEL
American College Professors Visit Israel
https://www.jns.org/us-professors-visit-israel-for-bridge-building-mission-with-israeli-universities/
The program seeks “to link the scholars with Israeli professors from their respective disciplines with the goal of developing collaborations, research projects, co-authoring articles and establishing exchange programs between faculty and students.” One of the visitors commented: I felt “inspired on a professional level by the Israeli grit, industriousness and spirit of pride in Israel…Israelis view failure as a step forward, while in the U.S., failure is a bad thing."
